This round-bottomed and straight-topped semi-tanned hide pouch is decorated with two horizontal bands of loom-woven quillwork in white, blue, red, and reddish-brown. Below each of the two bands is quill-wrapped hide fringe. The pouch is edged with red and blue quill, and a black-and-white band of quill is applied to the bottom. The strap is cotton and wool fabric edged with green silk. The inside of the pouch is lined with brown fabric. Made to hold shot or smoking paraphernalia, such bags were worn in the 18th- and first half of the 19th centuries.
