In 2012, Raven Knight apprenticed with Dancing Earth, an organization dedicated to promoting Native values and traditions through dance. Perhaps in a gesture of support for the rights of indigenous and tribal peoples throughout the world, Knight elected to wear South African-inspired clothing for her portrait.
